2010/2011 Australian Late Model Title
It’s official Mildura Edge Hotel/Motel Timmis speedway has won the rights to host the 2010/2011 10th Annual Australian Late Model championship.
This will be an event not to miss as it is the first time the title has been run outside of Western Australia in which it will be a historic move for the late models making it a true national division.
Mildura the Sunraysia district has got behind the thunderous V8, 800+ horsepower late model’s since SALMA (South Australian Late Model Association) started the division two years ago in South Australia and has now taken the big step in hosting the most prestige race of the year.
We are hoping to have 30 plus car from all over the country, and we are working on making this an event not to be missed said SALMA president Mat Crimmins. A lot of work went in by Royston Lloyd and his committee in Mildura the LMA (Late Models Australia) & SALMA.
With names such as Blake, Giancola, The Oldfield Brothers & Ludlow's plus more flying the flag for WA, Grimson, Disney, Mcpherson & co from NSW, Crimmins, McKay, Raymond from SA, the Mentaplay's from VIC, Phillips, Granger, Hawkins and co from QLD just to name a few and with so many good drivers from all over the country this will be the most open title ever, especially on a relatively neutral territory.
SALMA in conjunction with Mildura will be hosting the event starting with scrutineering & practice plus Calcutta/Dinner on the Friday 21st January with heat’s racing on Saturday 22nd and the all important dashes and Final on Sunday 23rd, with Monday 24th a rain out day if needed.
Nomination forms will be out soon along with an event handbook, which will have track info accommodation guide and all information regarding the event.
